This was a beautiful palace. Sadly, the owner has let it become rundown and the gardens are no longer vibrant, but it's still worth going to see the home and learning the history.

Views, views, views. The Blue Ridge Parkway offers hiking trails, biking opportunity, tourist stops or just riding with parkway and taking in the incredible vistas. It's one of my favorite places to drive with the top off the jeep on a Summer day.

Lake Monocan is a 20-acre lake and park located in Stoney Creek. It offers a sandy beach, swimming with lifeguard, canoes, kayaks, fishing equipment, stand-up paddle boards, sand volleyball court, lounge chairs, picnic area, and outdoor charcoal grills.1 The main attraction at the lake is the big trampoline in the middle of the lake, and there is also a tall inflated structure that you climb and then go down like a slide.
