Montpelier Hill, better known as The Hellfire Club to Dubliners, is a lovely place for a weekend walk. It has a variety of short forest trails and provides wonderful views of the city from the south-west. On the weekends you can find it busy with urbanites escaping the city and dogs running free. At the top sits a large hunting lodge where, if the stories are to be believed, some very strange things have happened.

Trail Description
Figure 8 walk. These reservoirs were built in the 1880's to supply water to Rathmines. The walk is of engeneering interest because the River Dodder flowing through this valley and was considered unsuitable because of the high peat content. A little over 30 minutes away this beautiful house and gardens with a real farm where you can feed the animals, they've got a brilliant playground too if you're bringing along any little ones.

This picturesque lake a little under an hour away is also known as the Guinness lake, and the beach on the northern side is covered in bright white sand which was imported by the Guinness family.

Bike Rental:
Twenty-five full suspension Nukeproof 2018 mountain bikes that each come with a full-face helmet, elbow pads and knee pads included in cost. Thirteen downhill trails ranging in increasing technical difficulty from intermediate to expert (two blue runs, five red runs, five black runs including a pro-line and a tech track, the Dual Slalom race track and one ‘pedal up’ track).
The scenic walking trails are free to use, they lead to Ticknock and the Dublin Mountain Way. They start at the GAP kitchen and along the route is the ancient ‘Giant’s Grave’a 4000-year megalithic wedge tomb.
