During the winter months of late DEC - Early FEB there is a massive Bald Eagle migration. The interpretive center at Howard Miller Steelhead Park offers free guided tours along the river.

A nice drive up Sauk Mountain Road (a densely forested mountain road) up to the parking lot at 4400ft. From there you can enjoy the amazing views. Or, climb the addition 1100ft up the face of the mountain to get on top of the world and get some tremendous views...all the way out to the coast on a clear day.
