This is a great place to eat when you don't want to spend a lot of money. The Lao owners are wonderful people who run a really cozy, comfortable and very tasty restaurant. We go here a lot. They're not open for breakfast but lunch and dinner here are great. 4 Stars

Open only from 4-10 so this is only a dinner place. This is great when you want Italian but more than pizza. We love their food and their wine and their all you can eat spaghetti and meatballs but they only have that on Sundays. 3 Stars

This is the only tea house in the immediate area. This period hotel has two restaurants, both good. You can order from both menus in either restaurant. The upstairs restaurant is more formal and has a great Sunday brunch. The downstairs restaurant, Seven Stone Steps, is more casual and has a bar. We prefer the SSS downstairs but we like them both. 4 Stars

This is a little outside of the area where we live but not too far and it's great. It's not for the budget-minded but it's a great menu and the wine is very good. We love this place on special occasions. We give this a 5 Star rating for the quality of the place but a 3 Star rating overall because it's too expensive to be useful except on special occasions.

This is a very complete, well stocked, farmers' market style farm stand but much more than a simple farm stand.

Parks & Nature
This is the second largest art park in the US. The area is large, both fields and woods in which to walk and view lots of contemporary sculpture. We love it just for exercise in a stimulating environment. 5 Stars

This lake is great because it's close. There are at least 3 separate public access points: beaches and boat launching spots. Beautiful lake. We love it. 5 Stars

I have been going to this park since I was a kid. It has 2 beautiful lakes, one in which you can swim, the other you can just walk around (you can walk around both). Here's what Wikipedia says about this park:
"The park is strikingly scenic, and has a "masterpiece"[3] golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones very early in his career. Green Lake itself is perhaps the most studied meromictic lake – one in which layers of water do not mix – in the world.[4] The park preserves the largest stand of old growth forest in Central New York,[5] and Round Lake has been designated as a National Natural Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior.[6]
The park is centered on two small lakes, Green Lake and Round Lake, which have an unusual blue-green color. These lakes lie at the base of a gorge that is somewhat longer than a mile in length. The lakes and the gorge are remnants of the ice ages, and exemplify some of the unusual geology of upstate New York."
This is a beautiful place to visit, especially to play golf, one of our favorite courses in the area. You can eat at the restaurant at the golf course: not spectacular but good enough and very casual. 5 Stars for the park, 2 Stars for the restaurant

It's a fully restored mansion reflective of the early 19th Century in this part of the country. It's also a museum of the Cazenovia area. We have been there many times and think it's fascinating. 5 Stars

But it is distinguished by its small but very interesting museum, including its Egyptian exhibit the highlight of which is the real Egyptian mummy a Cazenovia resident brought back from a trip to Egypt many years ago and donated to the Library. This is not a spectacular place to visit but it is so unique and interesting that I think it's worth a visit. 4 Stars

The only winery in Cazenovia. This place is great for the wine, of course. The food is limited but definitely good enough to make a decent, comfortable meal. I like the decor. Nice place to relax and hang out. 5 Stars

A huge resort hotel and casino about a 45 minute drive away from where we live. They have big nationally famous shows, many fine dining and other restaurants. I am sorry to say that we are just not interested in casinos so we have never been there but we hear - from our friends who love this kind of thing - that it's great. 4 Stars, I guess, if you're into it.

I am sorry to say that we are just not interested in casinos so we have never been there but we hear - from our friends who love this kind of thing - that it's great. 4 Stars, I guess, if you're into it.
The closest zoo to our house. There is another, larger one, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse. I know of this place so I include it here but I have never been there so I apologize I am unable to rate it. As soon as I check it out I'll let you know.

Call 655-4429 to meet them, purchase meat and see the buffalo, or just drive by. The buffalo are always roaming! 3 Stars
