An extinct volcano in the middle of a city and the views from the top are amazing. This is the number one guest favourite place to visit. The sunsets and sun rises from Arthur's Seat are spectacular. Start from St Leonards Police station, walk up St Leonards Hill, continue on to the right on St Leonards Bank and keep walking until the road ends. There is a dirt path on the left, walk up that and from there you can choose to walk up, through, around or down Arthur's Seat.

Cramond Island is a tidal island about one mile (1.6 km) out to sea, which is connected to the mainland at low tide across the Drum Sands. A paved path, exposed at low water, allows easy access. This causeway runs at the foot of a row of concrete pylons on one side of the causeway, which were constructed as a submarine defence boom during the Second World War and are one of the most striking sights in the area. Good for all year round birdwatching but particularly early summer. Range of species includes waders, gulls, tits, finches, warblers, kingfisher, dipper, grey wagtail, mute swan, mallard, cormorant, merganser. Car parking is available in Cramond village, it is also easily accessible on the LRT Bus 41 (Barnton) from Frederick St. or George St.

Come and see the world's largest equine sculptures up close - and even go inside to marvel at the complexity and the engineering which created these fantastic pieces of art. The Kelpies are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland. The sculptures were designed by sculptor Andy Scott and were completed in October 2013. The sculptures form a gateway at the eastern entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal, and the new canal extension built as part of The Helix land transformation project.
