Parks & Nature
This is my personal favorite trail. Difficulty 2 out of 5. It is interactive with signs describing all the different tree species located in the area.
It will take approximately 40 mins to get there and involves dirt road at the end. Access to the Hermit Lake Trail is 25 km south from Highway 11B (North Cobalt, Temiskaming Shores) along Highway 567.
This trail features a hidden lake, a secret valley and a sugar maple forest surrounded by hills crowned with pines.
Scenic alpine views and several outstanding panoramic vistas are visible from the hilltop trails.

The view that rewards you at the end of this trail is one of Northeastern Ontario’s best-kept secrets, and one that will quite literally take your breath away – and replace it with a feeling of awe and deep respect for mother nature.
There are two trails to Devil’s Rock. One begins at Bucke’s Campground, about 3.5 km south on Hwy 567 from the 11B Junction.
The second trail is 1.5 km south of Bucke’s campground, and has only a small sign and parking lot off the east side of the road to identify the trailhead. This route is more of a walk than a hike, the path itself is much wider, with a much easier incline than the Bucke Trail.

Nastawgan trail from Dam to Beaver Mountain. Moderate to difficult climb up the mountain. A little swampy at the start but makes up for it once you get up the mountain. Great views.
