Nestled at the top of Ilkley Moor, overlooking the pub of the same name, you’ll find the Cow and Calf rocks. There’s an old tale that suggests these rock formations were made when the giant Rombald stepped on them fleeing an enemy, but they’ve actually formed over 320 million years. Now, they’re a popular spot for hikers and climbing – you can appreciate the sheer scale of them as you walk between them and up to the top to enjoy incredible views. Hangingstone Road, Ilkley, West Yorkshire, LS29 8BT.
