Amazing creative food, well priced and because it is fairly new it is still something of a hidden gem. They have daily burger special that is always amazing. They have the best burgers in Anchorage for sure. Seafood is great too.

This location has a theater where you can eat and drink while you enjoy the movie or they also have another restaurant attached called the Bear Tooth Grill my personal favorite. Best margaritas there menu leans a bit southwest inspired.

Great asian inspired dishes and some of the best martinis in town. It's a little on the spendy so worth it just to have a pregame cocktail.

If you want to avoid crazy tourist scene this is great spot. I think the best thing about it is the menu works for any budget. You can get $12 dollar burger or have some great fresh seafood.

One of Anchorages newest restaurants. It is owned by a group local group who run and own several of our best restaurants. It has a main restaurant, bar and coffee house. Great food, beautiful facility and great cocktails. They specialize in Gin cocktails while their other location have their own specialty. I recommend just calling or going online to get on the waiting list just in case.

It is more of a quick service place but the food is great I would say better then any full service Mexican restaurant in Anchorage. A great value. Expect to spent $12 bucks for a meal and a beverage.

They have great pizza and have been nationally recognized for such. Great locally brewed beer. Down side is it is no secret. Everyone loves this place.

They will give you a password and you head up one floor to a nondescript door where you knock and give them the password. Really fine hand crafted cocktails. It is a very quite intimate setting. It isn't as intimidating as it sounds.

Pretty much the center of Anchorages gay community. Mad Myrna's is as much night club as it is a play house. They have many productions and drag shows. Friday nights you can catch a drag show about 9pm the Bar gets going about 10pm.

On a nice day before 7pm in the summer a great place to have a beer outside. It is mostly outside in a patio type setting. It's really all about being there before the sun goes behind some of the taller buildings.

This is smaller brewery location wise but one of the more popular local beers. They specialize in wheat beers but have a variety. Within just a short walk from Taku Lake Park.

This is one of Anchorage's under utilized gems. It is one of the main access point to the Tony Knowles Coastal trail. This trail goes 11 miles following the coast and leads right into down town Anchorage. At the down town end you can rent bikes for the day (Alaska Pablo’s Bicycle Rental). On the Kincaid side, you can usually get food at Yeti Dogs (voted #1 hot dog vendor 2016 by Mobile Cuisine. See Facebook for hours @yetidogsak). This is one of the few places to access the beach in Anchorage along with miles of fairly easy hiking. You are very likely to see some wildlife out there as well. Moose, eagle's, occasionally bear so just use common sense. I wouldn't worry lots of people about.

This park will get you access to the Anchorage Cambell Creek trail which pretty much connects the whole cities trail system. There is a nice peaceful lake and Cambell creek which runs through out the city.

This is a great place to start a hike. It is the trail head that will lead to several places. You can access Wolverine Peak Trail is a 8.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail it is rated as difficult but best view in town. You can see all of Anchorage and two different valleys on the other side. There is also Near point if don't have the time or energy for Wolverine.

There is also power line pass which is more long with very little elevation gain or O'Malley Peak which is also great but more challenging.
There are many things to do here. But much like the rest of Alaska it is all about get out doors. Rafting, camping, animal viewing, etc. This is something to plan, although if you are driving by there is surly something to stop and see.
