A small restaurant which serves the best francesinha in town. Really nice people (father and daughter) and real tasty sandwich! It's a simple, local dish that they do well in a very simple restaurant that is filled with locals. If you want something fancy, this is not the place, but if want what the locals eat for a quick bite, this place is magic!

The cuisine and service are very good! Recommend this place for tapas: cheese, grilled vegetables, meat from charcuterie, beautiful presentation for the vegetables and eggplant roll in particular and the focaccia bread is homemade. It's a little bit pricy, but the quality of the ingredients compensates.

The food is yummy and very creative and it's easy to find a seat. I would recommend going early as it does get crowded, not surprising since the food is so good. Not expensive for what you eat, the place is nice and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

One of the best places to get a coffee or have a drink in a calm environment. The building and the interior design are very nice, it also has a garden with an unique ambient. You can also eat, as it has the restaurant part, but the bar/lounge downstairs is more popular and the prices are lower. So a drink and a snack in the bar/lounge area can be very enjoyable.

Interesting place where you can drink a cup of wine with a nice view and calm ambient. The food is not the main reason you would visit, but it's a perfect place to chill and have coffee with friends. You can also use the free Wi-Fi to study/work and enjoy the local cultural and art events like exhibitions, performances or live music acts, in the music club separated from the restaurant. The space it's located on the 4th floor and has a beautiful terrace and a cool view.

The BOP experience starts with strong, impeccable service and ends with the urge to come back every time possible. The menu is pure "American style" enjoyment with a quality twist. The place has a great concept: you can choose from hundreds of vinyl records and listen to it by yourself or with someone, because every table has headphones. Both the bagels and the coffee are one of the best in town. BOP also has the best selection of beer in Porto. Absolutely amazing place! Love the idea!

Family owned place, one of the best bakery and coffee shops in Porto. Great variety of bread, including sweet potato bread and Bavaria rye bread. Good selection of pastry and cookies, as well. You can also find daily quick meals breakfast or lunch, and they have tasty sandwiches all the time. The staff is nice, and the place is comfy, with a nice sofa at the centre, where you can relax for a coffee, music and a good read. It's opened every day, from 07:00 AM to 08:00 PM, Saturday from 08:00 AM to 08:00 AM and Sunday it's closed. Pãodock it's very close to home.

Little out of the main tourist path, but don't hesitate, it's definitely worth going and eat here. Due to its popularity, I highly suggest booking a table, otherwise you will most likely have to wait around 30 minutes. The service was superb with funny staff and the pizzas were also delicious (very thin crust). The white sangria comes with mint and many fruits. Lastly, the price is very reasonable for its quality.

The place is run by a family. That is precisely the feeling you get when you eat there. The portuguese food is delicious! It is becoming so popular that it was necessary to make reservation for dinner but for lunch is not a mandatory. The family who run and operate the restaurant are efficient and quick, yet still remain friendly and helpful. They don't even have a storefront sign! But the all locals know it and make a bee line here every evening, with good reason. Very friendly, warm, and inviting atmosphere.

The owners are good people and the atmosphere here is hard to find anywhere else. This place belonged to the owner´s parents before it became a bar. It was an “alfarrabista” (old book and magazine store) before it was completely restored. In terms of the drinks and snacks, they are affordable in comparison to the area and you have the liberty to ask the bar man to make drinks the way you want them; this depends on the bartender. It isn’t a cocktail bar, but more like a place where you can drink a glass of wine, a beer, a gin tonic or a cuba libre and have a conversation with friends as well as take advantage of the free wifi. A wonderful cozy bar with a charming and delightful owner!

Classified as Unesco World Heritage since 1996, Ribeira, Douro’s riverfront, is the most emblematic neighbourhood and part of the historic centre of Porto. Have a stroll through the narrow streets to discover the real appeal of this place. In Ribeira’s riverfront you may gaze at the Luís I Bridge designed by the engineer Théophile Seyrug, Gustave Eiffel’s disciple.

A beautiful and unmissable sight in Porto. Make sure you walk across the top level of the bridge to appreciate how high it is and savour the views (or take the metro across if you don't fancy walking). Luís I Bridge is a double-decked metal arch bridge that spans the Douro River between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At the time of construction its span of 172 m was the longest of its type in the world. The construction was begun in 1881 and the bridge opened on 31 October 1886 (the upper deck), the lower deck opened in 1887.

The first train arrived here in 1896, but the building (designed with a French Renaissance touch) was only officially inaugurated in 1916 where a convent once stood. This is the city's most central station, standing downtown just around the corner from the monumental Avenida dos Aliados. Around 20,000 magnificent tiles alluding to the history of transport and Portugal cover most of the atrium. They're the work of artist Jorge Colaço and date from 1916. The most remarkable panels are those showing King João I and Queen Philippa of Lancaster by the city's cathedral in 1387, Prince Henry the Navigator conquering Ceuta in Morocco, and a representation of the Battle of Arcos de Valdevez.

The views from Cais de Gaia are perhaps the longest-lasting images of Oporto for visitors. It's impossible not to stand in awe at the city's stunning skyline, whose impact is further enhanced by the picturesque boats that stand in front, and the soaring double-decker Dom Luis Bridge. Breathe in the atmosphere from the several cafes and restaurants at the riverfront (Bogani Café is especially recommended for a drink and chill-out sounds), and then visit the terracotta-topped Port Wine warehouses that stand behind them. Most of the world's supply of Port is stored and aged here, and a visit to any of the warehouses should not be missed. It is best to come here in late afternoon.

To fully discover Porto and its history you must go to Foz do Douro. Facing the Atlantic you'll be struck by an incredible quality of life, the utmost romantic walks where every evening sun and sea merge into one spectacular climax. These beaches proudly display the blue flag eco-label, a sign of high quality unpolluted seawater. Take a stroll under the "Pergola da Foz" built in the 1930s. As the story goes, the Mayor of Porto’s wife at the time, had been so enchanted by the pergola of the "Promenade des Anglais » in the French town of Nice that she simply had to have the same in Porto. Here it is called the "Praia dos Ingleses".

On the way towards Ribeira do Porto, the Infante D. Henrique Square offers several points of interest. The square is in the historic center. The statue of the Infante Henrique (Prince Henry the Navigator) is by Tomás Costa and was erected in 1894. It consists of the statue of the Prince standing next to a globe. There are two sculptural groups at the base of the monument. One represents a figure of Victory leading two steeds and two Tritons, to commemorate the triumph of Portuguese navigations. The other is a female figure, symbolizing the Faith of the Discoveries. At the base, notice the bas-reliefs depicting the capture of Ceuta and showing the Infante in the Sagres Promontory.

From 1865 (when it was set up) until now, the venue has undergone significant changes. Thus, the garden was designed and laid out by order of Viscount de Vilar d’Allen, who commissioned Emilio David (the same German landscape gardener who designed the Crystal Palace Gardens) to do the job. The garden kept an elegant and romantic air until 1941, when a cyclone ravaged it, severely damaging its plant life patrimony. Subsequently to this unfortunate event, and in particular in 2001 (when Porto was designated European capital of culture), the garden was redesigned (a project coordinated by Camillo Courtier).

Praia do Molhe, with its blue flag and 168 meters of sand, is named after a breakwater designed to protect the bathing area. Since the early 20th century, this has been one of the most important resorts along the Porto coast. Adorned by the Pérgola da Foz, it is one of the more iconic representations of Porto. This cement balustrade was constructed around 1930 and offers a marvellous platform from which to enjoy the sea views. Everything around this beach vies for the attention of the summer visitor, from the somptuous stairway to the tasteful bars and outdoor seating areas.

A blue flag beach with 67 meters of sand. The beach's name comes from its proximity to Rua Senhora da Luz, where there was once a chapel dedicated to the mother of God, as Our Lady of the Light. At a later date, a lighthouse and fort were both built next to this chapel, on Monte da Luz, from where the visible horizon stretches from the Douro sandbar all the way to Espinho.

The São Roque Park has over 4 acres and is currently managed and owned by the Porto City Hall, which acquired it from the Calém family in 1979. It opened to the public in the same year, and was refurbished in the early 1990s. Its gardens have elements that were fashionable in the nineteenth century such as the minarets, the hedges, the fountains or other architectural ornaments. In this park, you may also see a set of sculptures, installed after the park was bought by the city, and a chapel that came from the Largo Actor Dias and which was rebuilt in this green space. The boxwood maze is another point of interest in this park that maintains the characteristics of a romantic garden.

The Marquês de Pombal Garden was overhauled several times during its history, but it still retains some of its original romantic character such as an iron bandstand, and two small lakes with water jets, camellias and sycamores. The most recent refurbishment coincided with the construction of the homonymous metro station. The Porto City Hall is currently trying to find a use for the small building in the garden that was designed by Bernardino Basto Fabião and that served as the Pedro Ivo Library from 1948 to 2001. The two accesses to the metro station in this noble green space are camouflaged with long hedges of camellias. Finally, the garden is located on the square of the same name.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Stadium tour started at pitch side, and included the visitor's dressing room, the media area and the president's box. The museum was much more interesting and interactive than expected and illustrated the history & the glory of the club. Amusingly both the Stadium tour and the exit from the museum brought you into the FC Porto store - very Disneyesque. Well worth a visit.
