603 Fort Rodd Hill RdElk Lake is where our. national rowing team and UVIC rowing team train out of. There are two lakes here, Elk Lake and Beaver lake, with separate parking at each. There is a walking trail about 10km long that goes around the lakes. Water is warm in summer and good for swimming, with the most popular spot being "Hamsterly" beach at Elk Lake.

This is located just before the municapality of Sooke, which is about an hour drive from the house. There are clear (but cold) pools of water which are very popular for swimming and hiking in the summer.
