Very nice small beach and in front of Marriott King Kamehameha Hotel next to Kona Pier. Snorkel gear, kayaks and stand up paddle boards for rent. The hotel will validate your parking if you spend $10.

Highly recommended. It's about 1 and 1/2 hours from Kona. If you want to spend one night stay at the Volcano House. It has a view of the largest crater. At night you can see the red glow of the lava.
