This is my all time favourite restaurant in Launceston. It's an authentic Thai restaurant run by Dang, a lovely Thai man, and his amazing family. Every year the family return to Thailand to purchase local spices and maintain their family connections.
The service is great and meals are well priced. They provide speedy take-away service as well.

Irish Murphy's, local Irish pub, offer live music 7 days a week. Many visitors and even locals may not realise that Launceston's musician scene is thriving, mostly with artists that play cover music but also with many awesome original artists. Live music usually starts around 9pm on weeknights and 10pm on weekends. Occasionally on the weekends there is a $5-10 cover charge.

The Cataract Gorge is iconic and is an amazing wilderness escape smack bang in the middle of the city. You'll see beautiful peacocks, wallabies, and experience beautiful scenery and fresh air. There are multiple walking tracks for all fitness levels. Lucky for you, Kinburn Street is virtually in the backyard of the Gorge, only 10 minutes walk away.
