This is the one-stop for family fun on the South Fork of the New River. They have bicycles, tubes, kayaks (w transport), fishing gear, and fishing guides. The owner Kelly is a river biologist. There are several cute animals in pens in the front yard.
You can sign up for a sunrise paddle or a Wednesday afternoon wine paddle, call Kelly.

They have 20 varieties of cheese, some gift baskets, a candy store with barrels of many kinds of wrapped candy, and and ice cream counter where they also sell fudge. Ample parking diagonally across from the store.

Honestly we went there on a rainy day not expecting much and were impressed. There is a garden in the back growing fresh food for the local food bank.
This location just south of West Jefferson was a nice family-owned Christmas tree farm called Frosty's -- and that is still open in December. But now the same nice family opened a winery and indoor-outdoor event venue called Old Barn Winery. It's open Thu-Sun evenings all year round. They have live music. They sell some other local products. Check it out. There is some good European wine in this region of NC.
