Enjoying Your Time at 1010!

One of our favorite things to do is to go for a lovely walk Wagon Hill Farm around the corner in Durham. Across from there is a lovely farm, Emery Farm, which has u-pick blueberries and other fruits, as well as a quaint farm shop, great sandwiches and delicious ice cream. We also love exploring Ft Foster in Kittery. On the way there, you can grab one of the local iconic lobster rolls at Chauncy Creek- literally on the dock where the boats come in with their fresh catches. Ft Foster not only has a beautiful little beach and walking trails, dock with lighthouse views!

We have three young kiddos who have all been coming to Eliot since they were babies. I started coming at age 8 myself and still believe the area is magical! When our kids get restless and a simple walk across the street to the boat launch beach and playground won't cut it, we take them to some of the following spots: - York Beach/Short Sands. Here you'll find a little zoo, epic taffy shops a beach-front arcade and one of the greatest sand-bottom, fully enclosed playgrounds. It gets a bit busy in the summer, but we've even gone with snow on the ground.

This is a great little museum with a great toy store across the street. The smaller size of the museum makes it a relatively stress-free way to get them out and about if the weather isn't cooperating-- or even if it's nice out. There's a neat park attached and local ice cream in the town.

We spend SO much time here. Not only is it a sweet little aquarium in one of the most gorgeous settings, but the actual park in which it's located (Odiorne State Park) has an old bunker and war relics to explore, amazing brand new playground, bathrooms, trails, and is the best picnic spot around. Entrance to the museum will get you entrance to the state park- plan to enjoy both!

Traveling as a couple or group? Here are favorite spots to eat out without kids and with incredible food... - Surf, outside on their patio. The food at Surf is awesome. Sushi, fish, raw bar and many options for those that don't eat seafood. Their sweet little patio overlooking the water is tough to snag, but worth it! - Black Trumpet, the Portsmouth foodie dream. - Wentworth's patio for cocktails. - Raleigh Wine Bar & Kitchen, excellent. - Anneke Jans, Portsmouth - CURE, Portsmouth - sit in their little courtyard if possible. Delicious!
