Go because it's pretty and its in the center of town. Lots to see while you walk. And you can rent a canoe, kayak, or SUP board there too. Easiest place to do that is near Austin High School at the Texas Rowing Center.

Rent a kayak, SUP board or canoe and enjoy time in the sun on Lady Bird Lake! Great views.

Go watch the bats fly out from under the Congress Street bridge. They come out just after dusk and are looking for mosquitoes, so it needs to be hot out. If they don't come out at dusk, don't wait there forever. Sometimes, they just don't fly. It is the most beautiful and awe inspiring sight when they fly. Truly not to be missed!
