Sightseeing
This is a park next to the Colonial Building in St. John's. It features gazebos, splash pad and an outdorr swimming pool in the summer months. It is approximately a 3 minute drive or a 30 minute walk. Across the street from the main entrance is an ice cream parlour for those warm days.

This is a national historic park. You can enter the castle during business hours (free) and it also has a gift shop. You can observe all of St. John's on top of this hill. It has great views in the day as well as the evening. The Vistors Center and the Geo Center are also located just below Signal Hill. Check out their websites for hours of operations and admission fees.
There are also many trails to explore but ensure you have enough water with you as there are many steps throughout the walk. You will have great ocean views and depending on the time of year, you may even see some whales.

It is a 30 minute walk into the suspension bridge. It is a very rocky and uneven trail. Make sure you watch your footing. This location is approximately 56 kms from St. John's. When you get into the bridge, there is a swimming hole as well as other walking trails.

Govenment House has tours of the inside of the building and free access to the gardens which include the Heart garden to recognize Indigeneous peoples in our province. In Ferryland, you can see the lighthouse and the stunning ocean views. You can have a picnic lunch brought to you while you sit and enjoy the scenery. Please make sure you reserve your space before attending, if you plan to picnic. This lighthouse is located about 50 minutes outside of St. John's.
