Food scene

The bar that started the foodie scene in Stillwater. Superb cocktails, the food starts with great basics, and then they are given little tweaks here and a dash of pizzaz there to give you an elevated experience.

Local Neighborhood Finds

Long-standing dive bar of Stillwater. A short walk down Churchill St., you will find the owner brothers running the grill and bar. This place is nothing fancy, you won't find any craft cocktails, but they make a mean dive burger and basket of fries. The wait staff is always friendly, but they run a tight ship and usually don't have much time to chat.

The St. Croix Boom Site is a historic and scenic wayside on the St. Croix River in Stillwater. It commemorates the location of a critical log boom where, from 1856 to 1914, timber from upriver was sorted and stored before being dispatched to sawmills downstream. There are 26 acres of land to explore. The hike to the Saint Croix Boom Site waterfall is a mile-long out-and-back trek that follows the Saint Croix River. The flow varies depending on several factors and can be a trickle of water at times. There are three parking areas for the Saint Croix Boom Site, located north of Stillwater off highway 95. Parking for this hike is located at the middle parking area with a historical marker. There are no fees for parking.
