Open hours: 11.00 am - 10.00 pm Receiving a lot of excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, Secret Garden restaurant offers the authentic taste and experience of Asian and Vietnamese cuisine. Lying on the rooftop of an old colonial-era building, the restaurant itself, traditionally decorated, will take you back in time to a Hoian ancient house of the 1600s. Lanterns are colorful, furniture is wholly made of wood, and the atmosphere is more lively than ever. Settling yourself in somewhere that can overlook the whole district, you will be then served the most familiar dishes in a Vietnamese family’s dinner. The food here, in general, is well decorated and tastes well. Made 100% from Vietnamese ingredients, they, despite the simple look and name we call them, can give you delicious sophisticated tastes. For some foreigners, they can be pretty strange to try for the first time; yet, they are not hard to eat and good enough to impress you. Those recommended are stir-fried morning glory with beef and grilled beef in betel leaves. In Secret Garden, it is good to come to eat with 1 to 2 friends of yours. As it is quite hard to find, you should go with a Vietnamese friend.

Open hours: 11.30 am - 2.30 pm; 5.30 pm - 11.00 pm (last seating at 9.30 pm) Noir offers a great and off-the-beaten-track dining experience that is literally “in the dark”, as its name suggests. The unique concept was developed by visually impaired people, who have their life shaped by senses but sight. So, to us whose five senses can function well when sight doesn’t dominate anymore, how can we feel our surrounding world by the others? The experience is definitely worth a try in such a restaurant in District 1. Besides the great experience, the dishes here will not let you down. To be more detailed, they will be served in a multi-course meal. Each features a small portion, is well decorated, and tastes really good. If you are vegetarian or have any special requests about the food, confirm it with the staff so that they can serve you the best. Another special thing about Noir. Dining in the Dark is that all staff are visually impaired people in Ho Chi Minh city. On coming here for your meal, all you need to do is to be prepared to give up your sight for a short time, have your mind totally open to exploring the exciting sensory experience, and be willing to leave your phone and other light-emitting devices in the secure lockers.
