Port Lucaya is a well known tourist attraction on the island. It has a variety of shops rannging from restaurants, bars, jewellery, clothing stores, tour companies, island yogurt, candy and convenience stores etc.
It is spot that locals to visit on the weekends for night life.
Some shops are only open in between regular office hours.

On Wednesday starting from evening their is a fish fry. It is a nice outing where you can interact with other tourists and locals.
Music, drinks, dancing and a sitting area
Guests can purchase native dishes from vendors (Snapper fish, conch fritters, conch salad, guava duff etc.)

I would recommend Following them on Facebook during your stay to see the weekly specials that are issued every Thursday. Solomons has a bus stop directly outside so it is easy to travel to if you have not rented a car from my rental unit.
