Amazing old building and great food
If you are looking for variety and for restaurant with style experience, you should take into consideration the restaurant Domaine Anna. It is a stylish restaurant surrounded by sugar cane fields by lakes and small-scale pavilions (sometimes you “stay” even on the water). Here you can find Chinese, Indian and Creole food, that is really excellent. The extremely friendly and well-trained staff leaves no wish unfulfilled. Since the restaurant also by the local people very loved is, you should make a reservation (Tel: 4539650). The restaurant is open for lunch from 12:00 to 14:15 clock and for dinner from 18:30 pm to 22:30 clock. (Prices: dinner for two persons including drinks about 900 Rs) Directions: Go to the A3 towards Flic en Flac, it leads before Flic en Flac than go right between the sugar cane fields through (which is also signposted), you have to follow this direction and you’ll see that this is the easiest way to get to Domaine Anna.

Chez Pepe is very well attended and here you can enjoy tasty Italian food. Obviously, the local people are enjoying the good European food. The portions are huge! The restaurant is located on the coastal road and offers a great view of the beach and the sea of Flic en Flac. The waiters are prudent and humorous. Even the wine list leaves no wish unfulfilled. Opening times: 11:30 to 15:30 clock, 18:00 to 22:00 clock. (Tel: 4539383)

Black River Gorges National Park is a national park in the hilly south-western part of Mauritius. It was proclaimed on June 15, 1994 and is managed by the National Parks and Conservation Service. It covers an area of 67.54 km² including humid upland forest, drier lowland forest and marshy heathland. Facilities for visitors include two information centres, picnic areas and 60 kilometres of trails. There are four field stations in the park which are used for National Parks and Conservation Service and Mauritian Wildlife Foundation research and conservation projects. The park protects most of the island's remaining rainforest although much of this has been degraded by introduced plants such as Chinese guava and privet and animals such as rusa deer and wild pigs. Several areas have been fenced off and invasive species have been eradicated from them to preserve native wildlife. Many endemic plants and animals still occur in the park including the Mauritian flying fox and all of the island's endemic birds: Mauritius kestrel, pink pigeon, Mauritius parakeet, Mauritius cuckoo-shrike, Mauritius bulbul, Mauritius olive white-eye, Mauritius grey white-eye and Mauritius fody

Getting Around

Located in the North West part of Mauritius near the town of Grand Baie , La Cuvette Beach is a hidden gem in Mauritius and is only known to locals and a few tourists. Also known as Royal Palm Beach or La Mauricia Beach (owing to its proximity to these two resorts), the La Cuvette Beach is popular for the tranquillity it offers. There are many spots at the La Cuvette Beach where one can simply relax behind the many rocks and cliffs or soak in the natural beauty of the place. The beach also has a grassy patch where one can play football or just take a leisurely stroll while the sea breeze plays with your hair. Apart from this, the La Cuvette Beach also has ample parking space, shacks which serve delicious local snacks, changing rooms and shower facilities as well.
