Only a few steps from the appartment is the Zoo and the Botanical Garden in Cologne with a great restaurant where you can enjoy the plantlife but also enjoy the simple, but great restaurant:) The entrance to the botanical garden is free. From there on the opposite side is the Zoo and a few steps from the Zoo the furnicular (Seilbahn), bringing you to the other side of Rhine River

If you want to experience the Rhine river take a boat trip down the Rhine river and back on a beautiful summer day. And also stroll along the Rheinauhafen.
This is a noble part of the city of Cologne offering leisure. For seeing the right side of the Rhine river you can continue both sides for great views, either to Rodenkirchen or up to Leverkusen. In the summer there are also open summer cinemas.
