Huey's is a local favorite for lunch, dinner, and the bar scene. Good place for families as well as travellers looking to go out with friends and have a casual drink. the food is also very good, and not expensive.

Shopping Mall
A longtime landmark of the downtown Memphis scene, the Pyramid has recently been redone with the largest Bass Pro in the world, which more resembles an amazingly nature-esque scenic shopping mall, as it has shops for all interest. while the theme is geared towards outdoor activity, tourists who just want to sightsee, grab a bite to eat, and maybe a gift for a relative (or yourself!) will have a great time also.

Nightlife
Beale Street is a great strip for night life and live music. It is a heavy tourist destination, so I'd suggest not making Beale the central theme of a trip if you're looking for real local spots. But definitely worth taking a night out if you're looking for some bar fun!

Panhandlers
One minor annoyance of downtown Memphis are panhandlers. they are harmless but will sometimes attempt to take advantage of tourists. acknowledging them with a "sorry man I don't have any cash on me" and continuing to walk is the best response, they will tell you their whole life story if you let them.

Trolley System
the trolley runs up and down Main Street about 3 miles each way, and is a great way to reach almost every major point downtown. trolley is 1$ cash per ride and they require exact change.
