The Carova Beach Park and boat ramp is close by, down Ocean Pearl dr and we have room out front for you to park your SHALLOW DRAFT boat! Take advantage of the Currituck Sound and the Back Bay while you are here. Waters can get shallow depending on the winds so make sure your vessel is appropriate for these conditions.

The Mustang Galley is located right at the entrance of one of the best kept secrets on the OBX, False Cape Park. Up here in Northern Corolla at the Virginia line is where housing and people end and False Cape Park begins. Wildlife and miles of bike trails along empty rural shore line beaches and Back Bay wilderness make this place super unique and a must for hikers, trail riders, Kayakers and photographers. Overnight camping is permitted in this remote beach park by reservation. Since there is no parking at the entrance to the False Cape and since the park entrance itself is a 15 mile drive up the beach, Mustang Galley is the unofficial base camp for expedition into the Park!

Visit one of Corolla's historical landmarks and spend the day at the park fishing off the docks or kayaking in the sound. See the Historic Light House or take a tour through the beautiful Whale head Club Mansion itself.

Food scene
A favorite of locals and one of the only places that stays open all year round in Corolla. It's also close to the entrance of the 4WD area. The owner, Henry who is half Korean (Just like the kids in our family) grew up with a Korean Mom and if you know anything about Korean culture (like we do) good food and food freshness is an absolute. Henry who is also the master chef abides by that culture of freshness at Uncle Ikes. You won't get frozen seafood here. Although this is not a Korean restaurant they serve some of the freshest, well prepared and delicious seafood dishes on the OBX. We love it!

Great little low key Sushi and grill restaurant with a little intimate sushi bar tucked in the corner. Good selection of hot AND cold Saki offerings. One of our favorites. If you speak Cantonese your in luck! The owner and family are from Hong Kong....great people!

Carova Beach is a beautiful rural beach with wild horses, surrounded by water , without roads or street signs or even mail delivery! There are only two ways into Carova Beach 1. by boat across the Currituck Sound from Knotts Island and 2. Via 4wd vehicle approximately 12 miles down the beach in the sand. You MUST have a 4wd vehicle to reach the property and you MUST air down your tire to below 20psi. If you don't you will get stuck. The difference between airing down and not airing down your tires is huge!
