Whether you relax on the beach, at a picnic table or otherwise, Alki Beach is an excellent place to stop and enjoy the view as you can see downtown Seattle, the Olympics, the Puget Sound and plenty of boat traffic meandering by. Alki Beach Park has volleyball courts, fire pits, kayaking, paddle boarding, bike rentals, amazing bars, restaurants or star gazing.

No trip to Washington state is complete without visiting Mt Rainier national park. I recommend taking a stroll through the temperate, inland, rain forest. Enjoy beautiful wild flowers and waterfalls during the spring and summer or snowboarding and skiing during the winter.

Discovery Park BoulevardDo you enjoy hiking? Discovery park is 12 miles of walking trails leading to open meadows, through forests, down the bluff to a rocky beach with a historical lighthouse. With all that space comes tranquillity and stunning views of Mount Rainier, the Olympics and the Cascades. It is a sanctuary within the city limits.
It is one of the most popular beaches in the area, with over 300ft of sand. The beach overlooks Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. Great beach for Swimmers and boaters because you have instant access to the water, and the beach caters to volleyball games, kite flyers, and those who simply want to lay a towel down and enjoy the view.
Golden Gardens also features forested hiking trails and an off-leash dog area. And like Alki Beach, campfires are allowed and encouraged within designated fire pits.

The park includes forest trails, a paved walkway along the beach, athletic fields, picnic shelters, and a heated saltwater swimming pool which is open during the summer. This park is a great place to take the kids, dogs or for a sunset date.
