As an avid concert goer I can say without hesitation that the Fillmore is one of the best venues for concerts! The place is iconic and brings that up close and personal concert experience rather than the arena or amphitheater most concerts are held in. If you see an artist you like booked here don't hesitate .. Go ! This is about as up close and personal as you will get with the feeling of being in the concert, not just sitting and watching it. The exterior of the building makes you underestimate how truly large it is on the inside. Once inside you will quickly realize why it's so famous. Artists like Kendrick Lamar, Lizzo, SZA, and many more have passed through this amazing venue. So what are you waiting for?? Go get your tickets to see your favorite artists perform live!

Located at the center of Downtown Silver Spring, the ice rink is perfect to add to your date night, family night, or solo night out. To top it off, the beautiful music played in the rink really lightens the mood and helps you get lost in the experience!
Are you a little rusty on the skates? So am I! Although I myself love ice skating, I admit that I am not the best at it. The rink provides lessons for everyone. Additionally, they have these little skate penguins for kids to lean on so they don't fall. Naturally, I always grab one for my first couple of laps around the rink (you know… just to show the kids how it's done). I have no shame.

Just across the street from fillmore is silver springs hidden gem, The AFI Theatre! One of the best theaters in the DC area, and the single best thing to go to in Silver Spring. Going to the movies is a special occasion here. This gorgeous, elegant theatre beats any AMC in my opinion. They screen feature films alongside the classics. The auditorium is huge, airy, spacious, "operatic" (and you feel like you've walked into an opera house of sort). Up front, they display film reels and equipment, as well as a projector. They have recreated the glory of cinema: a communal event!

AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center

I absolutely love this zoo! First of all, it's free admission! How cool is that? This zoo is also MASSIVE. There is so much to see and do that it would be super easy to lose track of time and spend the entire day here. The DC metro conveniently lets out right in front of it.
I always enjoy the Amazonia exhibit. You start off by walking through a building with large aquariums of piranhas and other cute cute critters. Then, you come to an enclosed but "open-air" atrium where there are birds and monkeys that roam about freely. Perhaps my favorite exhibit of the entire zoo is the Panda Exhibit. I highly recommend you check it out!

Smithsonian National Zoological Park
3001 Connecticut Ave NWI absolutely love this zoo! First of all, it's free admission! How cool is that? This zoo is also MASSIVE. There is so much to see and do that it would be super easy to lose track of time and spend the entire day here. The DC metro conveniently lets out right in front of it.

The Lincoln Memorial is one of the best things to visit in D.C. The sheer size and beauty of it cannot be understood until you are there standing in it. And the views of the city just cannot be beat. No descriptions you read or photos you see of it can prepare you for the emotions you will feel from standing at this quasi-sacred ground. Make sure you bring a camera, cause this is a moment you'll want to capture. This should indeed be a top priority for visitors to D.C.!

Pomnik Lincolna
2 Lincoln Memorial Cir NWThe Lincoln Memorial is one of the best things to visit in D.C. The sheer size and beauty of it cannot be understood until you are there standing in it. And the views of the city just cannot be beat. No descriptions you read or photos you see of it can prepare you for the emotions you will feel from standing at this quasi-sacred ground. Make sure you bring a camera, cause this is a moment you'll want to capture. This should indeed be a top priority for visitors to D.C.!
This is hands down the best museum in the country to learn about African American history, and it so deftly weaves the whole story together across seven floors. It is spectacular! In fact, its probably the best Smithsonian museum of them all (but of course its the newest so that helps too). There is so much there, and it so interesting that you will want to read it ALL, but you will barely be able to get through one or two floors. My family and I are local and have visited multiple times. Every time we go we learn so much more then we did our previous visits. Its like three large museums in one. The cafeteria also has some of the best food your ever going to taste--showcasing African American dishes from around the country and their origins from Africa!

1400 Constitution Ave. NWThis is hands down the best museum in the country to learn about African American history, and it so deftly weaves the whole story together across seven floors. It is spectacular! In fact, its probably the best Smithsonian museum of them all (but of course its the newest so that helps too). There is so much there, and it so interesting that you will want to read it ALL, but you will barely be able to get through one or two floors. My family and I are local and have visited multiple times. Every time we go we learn so much more then we did our previous visits. Its like three large museums in one. The cafeteria also has some of the best food your ever going to taste--showcasing African American dishes from around the country and their origins from Africa!

The park caters to numerous outdoor activities for all ages, from young to seniors. From tennis, ice skating, scenic gardens, train rides, butterfly farms, running brooks, deers, horseback riding, and picnicking more!
Food scene
I’ve been wining and dining at the Copper Canyon on Ellsworth since it’s inception. Why? Just cannot resist a restaurant that consistently offers a diverse menu of quality food, tantalizing cocktails, and an ambiance that exceeds or rivals any other restaurant in the metropolitan area. Restaurant staff are competent, friendly and eager to please. Add to this a frequent diner program that rewards your repeat visits and voila, one of my favorite restaurants!

Restaurant staff are competent, friendly and eager to please. Add to this a frequent diner program that rewards your repeat visits and voila, one of my favorite restaurants!
Where do I begin, Zeds is amazing. Really one of my favorite places in the area. My go-to is the Caramel Macchiato either hot or cold, the pina colada smoothie & the breakfast dishes are great also. I'm confident it'll be easy to find something you'll enjoy on the menu. I've been going to this spot for quite a few years now & have had the pleasure of meeting Zed quite a few times; very personable guy who usually hires decent/friendly staff. The environment is extremely relaxing & the food/drinks are always consistent!
