Candlewood Town Park is in the town of Danbury, and includes playgrounds, picnic tables, boat docks, benches and a concession stand, in addition to a 600-foot swimming beach. The Candlewood Town Park beach typically has three lifeguards on duty between Memorial Day and Labor Day, though hours vary.

The Park, once an active dairy farm and fruit orchard is now home to 21 miles of hiking trails, 2 ponds, a lake and several picnic areas. In addition to the vast acreage Tarrywile is home to one of Connecticut's beautifully preserved historical landmarks; Tarrywile Mansion. The Mansion, built in 1897 is listed on the National Historical Society's registry as a prime example of Shingle-style architecture.
Come spend the day soaking up the beauty that is Tarrywile, hike one or more of our blazed trails, go fishing in Parks Pond, bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in our apple orchard or along one of the many areas set up for picnics. There are certain areas marked as handicap accessible so everyone can enjoy our beauty. You can bring the kids check out our Children's Garden where you may spot some Koi fish hiding amongst the reeds or hear the croak of large bullfrogs. Make sure you keep your eyes open, you never know when our resident Troll will pop out of his Troll house.
Our beautiful flower gardens will attract the gardener in your family, our grape arbor and gazebo will bring out the photographer in you and our manicured lawns are perfect for that lazy day game of Frisbee. If you are a Ornithologist you will love our protected bird nesting areas and the many different species that can be found making Tarrywile their home.

A family operated boutique winery. At White Silo Farm & Winery all of our wine is produced in small batches.
Open for wine tastings April – December. Wine flights are $10 per person and include five wines. Glasses and bottles of wine may be purchased to enjoy in our tasting room or on one of our outdoor terrace gardens. Of course, bottles may be purchased to take home.
We offer cheese platters with homemade membrillo and mustard to enjoy with your wine. Gourmet picnic lunch boxes for $20 per person are available (No advance rsv required). The lunch box menu changes seasonally. The current lunch includes turkey and arugula with White Silo Mustard on 7-grain bread, mediterranean quinoa salad, mini cheese plate, salted mixed nuts and a chocolate caramel turtle bar. Please do not bring your own food or beverages.
Each weekend we offer an assortment of cookies, scones and pastries prepared by our chef. Come early Saturday and Sunday morning for a warm pastry and a cup of local organic Sacred Grounds coffee.

Skiing near Candlewood Lake
Small mountain, yes... BUT affordable ski option with a multitude of terrain, low crowds, real family-friendly without any of the ski crowd shenanigans you find in NJ or other mountains close to NYC. Also top of their game in snowmaking, so you can ski December - March/April.

Lift ticket for a week day was a very reasonable $40 each. Kids loved the beginner area and the green runs were perfect for new ⛷ and fun for intermediate 🎿. Great place, close to home (45 min drive) here in CT. Kids and I have taken lessons here in the past well worth the money. The staff are always helpful and friendly.
Snowboards and ski equipment are in excellent condition, the sky run is suitable for all ages, from people who are beginners to those who are experienced. They have a food court. Excellent place is very well suited, perfect to spend an afternoon with friends or family.

The staff was great, the seats were great. They had a cash bar in the lobby so you could enjoy a drink during the show. Very comfortable seating. Not a bad seat in the house. Would definitely go again. Beautiful old theater.
