During the summer great hiking and they have their own fire tower and if you want to skip the hike they even have the ski chalet that you can take to the top. Perfect for viewing the leaves when the seasons change.

Another skiing destination in the Catskills. Luckily our Airbnb is nestled between near many of the mountains. Both Windham and Hunter are surrounded by shops, bars, restaurants and hiking trails.

Catskill is the darling town in Greene County that is just as much a hub for history as it is for up-and-coming restaurateurs. Like the west-of-the-river county as a whole, Catskill is charmingly low-key. It nestles happily within the forested parks and preserves that surround it.

For some of the best views of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge and the surrounding Catskill mountain scene in the background. There a few different ways to enjoy your time there. If you are up for it, park on the other side of the bridge after the round about and hike up the trails to Olana. Or follow your GPS and park at the top and enjoy the views without the hike. Pro Tip- If hiking from the bottom take a few extra minutes and walk the Rip Van Winkle Bridge.. Its a little loud with the traffic but the views around sun set our outstanding.

Experience the work of a 40 year art project. Last time I went was during the heat of covid and we had to book a time slot. There is plenty to explore but I think the best way to experience Opus 40 is to pack a lunch and enjoy the views after exploring.

Hiking
If you plan on hiking while in the Catskills, we highly recommend the "All Trails" app. You can filter your hikes by elevation, distance, difficulty, visible features (Mountain views, waterfalls, Ext..) This app does have a feature to download the maps ahead of time so incase you lose service you can still navigate the trail. As always check in at the beginning of the trail and tell someone where you will be hiking before you lose service.
