It is a unique place that attracts tourism from all over the world for its culture, language, gastronomy and most important its history.This historical village has maintained many of its African oral and musical tradition, including the only Spanish-Bantu spoken on earth, known as Palenquero. This historical village in 2005 was declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage to Humanity by UNESCO.

It is imperative that you follow the following before getting on a Taxi: Always ask how much is the ride before getting in. Always take a picture of the Taxi License plate and Number listed on the side of the car. If traveling alone, always seat in the back seat and behind the driver side. Always be attentive to the driver’s behavior. If posible it is recommended to have some knowledge of the language or travel with a trusted friend that speaks the language.
