I love the fried chicken, biscuits so light they float away, so many vegetables! This is all served family style around tables that seat 10. This is a MUST. The line starts to form around 11am. Don't let the line scare you off, it moves quickly.

Check out the lowcountry boil. A local favorite dish. Get all the seasonings. You can order a full tray which will easily feed 6 - 10 (if doubtful add a couple of extra pounds of shrimp to your order) Ask for cocktail sauce. Don't forget to order hushpuppies, you wont be disappointed.
Bring a pool towel to carry the tray back to the house, the tray is hot! Enjoy around the pool. (be sure to place the shrimp shells outside, you don't want to leave them inside until the morning!)
PS I cheat and grab a pint or two of KFC coleslaw. They are just down the street.

Feed the ducks! In the neighborhood. Like so much of Savannah...you are welcomed to the park with a statue/public art. Great community park with gorgeous lake views. There is a walking path around the perimeter which gives you great views of the lake, park, etc. There are quite a few picnic shelters, including one large shelter for at least 50 people in center of park. Nice playground area for the little people.

There is a walking path around the perimeter which gives you great views of the lake, park, etc. There are quite a few picnic shelters, including one large shelter for at least 50 people in center of park. Nice playground area for the little people.

Check out the full operational turntable, many of their historic steam or diesel trains or go on one of the guided tours! Details: The Railroad Museum is open Monday-Sunday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $10 per adult and $6 per child ages 2-12.

Here you will find treats for all ages. Staff was super friendly and the working candy shop was amazing. We were mesmerized by the taffy pulling, the wrapping machine, the conveyor belt, etc. We were able to watch them flavor taffy by hand, pour out pralines, and cut and wrap candies. The staff seemed eager to answer questions and dole out a few samples. Great wall of candy and ice cream too. Be sure to look up and see the train running around the shop.
