There is both a downtown Winter Park and a ski village located at the base of the slopes. The downtown is situated a few miles from the slopes and only 3 miles from Fraser. It has numerous awesome restaurants and shops.

Hideaway park is in the middle of down town Winter Park. In the winter they have a great sledding hill. Plenty of areas to build snowmen. They also have a fire going to warm up around. The city does supply some sleds but grabbing your own is definitely easier. In the summer there is also a skate park and playground area. There are many festivals and concerts .

• Sunglasses- the Colorado sun is bright, and snow-blindness is a real thing
