Very limited parking! But if you can get a spot you will not be disappointed. With views of the San Juan Islands you have the option to walk the beach for miles, or trek up the trails that connect to Fort Worden.

The Larry Scott Trail goes from downtown Port Townsend up through Port Townsend. The trail is a little over 7 miles one way and is slopped in some areas. I recommend going to The Broken Spoke and renting an E-bike for the day! You can also connect to the Olympic Discovery Trail which goes all the way West to the coast!

This small city park is full of beautiful points of interest! We recommend getting a hot tea or coffee at Aldrich Market then taking a stroll down to the park. From here you can access the beach and even do a big loop into town and back up.

The Rose Theatre is a MUST when visiting Port Townsend. If you can check out the Starlight room, it is located on the top floor and furnished with antique couches and chandeliers. You will find healthy and delicious snacks and drinks throughout the theater.

This is not Seattle! When driving through town please drive slow, especially if you are unsure of where you are going. Also gravel roads=reduced speeds please.

Always check the bridge & ferry status!
The hood canal bridge and the Washington state ferries are often unpredictable in nature. Before heading out of Port Townsend you will want to make sure that the bridge is open and the wait times at the ferry.
The Washington State Department of Transportation website will have all of this information.

Don't get caught in a rising tide!
Whenever you are enjoying the seashore be mindful of the tides. You can go to the Port Townsend Marine Science center either downtown or on the pier at Fort Worden for information or check out their website.

Power outages are common
Port Townsend is a WINDY place, it is a small peninsula surrounded by water meaning power outages are very common especially in the Fall months. We will do our best to accommodate you if this happens during your stay but here are some basics to get you comfortable right away:
-There are two water jugs under the kitchen sink filled with clean water
-The wood burning stove will keep the cabin heated
-You can find a battery powered lamp in the entry way
-If you are unable to reach us you can always come knock on our door, but if we are home we will most likely reach out to you first
