Favorite Beaches
The soft sandy white beaches of Kailua are unique on this island. The surf is great. The water is relatively shallow. You can easily build sandcastles and swim in the warm clear water. This beach is one the of the best for kite surfing whether you want to watch the incredible kite surfing or even give it a try yourself!

Lanikai Beach is pristine soft white sand with shallow water and fantastic views of The Mokoluas. Snorkeling here is a good option - you will
often see live coral, various cooorful fish and sea turtles. It can be tough to find parking in Lanikai but it is well worth the wait!

Kalama is one of the best kid beaches due to the sand bars and great water for boogie boarding or beginner surfers. The arching trees and shady spaces make it easy to enjoy a long beach day!

Just south of Kailua is a little beach town that has a large stretch of the some of the clearest and most beautlful water on the island. You can take a sunrise or sunset stroll, build sand castles or just simply enjoy the views and swimming in the warm water here.

There are fun places to explore and rocks to walk around on while getting splashed by the large waves rolling in. Swimming and snorkeling are not as safe here but enjoying the beach is lovely. A famous film (From Here to Eternity) was shot here as one of the first beach scenes in the industry and Jurassic World also used this beach for filming.

Halona Beach Cove
A bit of a hike down from the Halona Blowhole Lookout but this beach is unique and beautlful! There are fun places to explore and rocks to walk around on while getting splashed by the large waves rolling in. Swimming and snorkeling are not as safe here but enjoying the beach is lovely. A famous film (From Here to Eternity) was shot here as one of the first beach scenes in the industry and Jurassic World also used this beach for filming.

A unique experience of beach on the North Shore where you can enjoy walking through the large Banyan trees or simply taking in the views of the less popular beach. Just park on side of the main road across from the farm stand. Turtles are regularly sighted here as well!

On the tip of the North Shore about an hour away but definetely worth the scenic drive around the island. Has a medium rock/cliff jump and often has mini canals that are shallow and warm for little ones. Can get busy so we suggest going early!

An incredible way to remember the men and women who served on Pearl Harbor during World War II and hear the history of the surprise attacks on that December day. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time online to get your spot for the ferry boat to see the USS Arizona. It is a sobering and beautlful experience. Open Reservations usually become available several days in advance.
