Casual atmosphere. Not the most inexpensive Thai food but it is good quality and delicious.

A great place in a gorgeous garden/gift shop setting. Treat yourself to a lovely breakfast or just coffee and cake. The cafe is part of the Lifestyle Centre which includes a day spa and an acupuncture, myotherapy and massage clinic.

A surf club and beach right in the middle of the city. You are surrounded by restaurants, parklands, childrens' activity areas and all on the beautiful Brisbane River. Take a ferry to Bulimba for lunch or buy a ticket on the Brisbane Wheel for a great view.

It's the closest and if you like parmigiana, the Three Little Pigs Tavern specialises in them. Don't be tempted to select the large option though - the meals are very generous. Great garlic bread too.

Great places locally where you can entertain the children.
Check out the platypus up close in the wildlife centre, pick up a picnic hamper from the café and have a picnic along one of the walking/cycling tracks or paddle and swim in the cool waters of Enoggera Reservoir.

Enter 1132 Winn Rd (not 1100) into your GPS so you can find the carpark. Open on the first Saturday each month but check their website first. A great place to take kids to meet farm animals, ride a pony or play on a jumping castle. You can also book in to help feed the animals each evening - every day except Sunday.
Trevena Glen Farm
1100 Winn RdEnter 1132 Winn Rd (not 1100) into your GPS so you can find the carpark. Open on the first Saturday each month but check their website first. A great place to take kids to meet farm animals, ride a pony or play on a jumping castle. You can also book in to help feed the animals each evening - every day except Sunday.
Open from 8am to 5pm each day, the interactive, water themed playground suits children of all ages. Features include tipping buckets, a spray tunnel, spurting lady beetles, a water table and water cannons. Watch the children from tiered seating or make use of the BBQ and picnic facilities. A park with slide and swings is adjacent to the water park.

Getting Around
Only a 25 minute train ride to the city. City stops are Roma Street Station which is great for visiting the George Street end of the city and Central is just a short walk to Queen Street Mall. You may consider getting a GoCard from a newsagent or the station. Otherwise only one way tickets are available and it expires after 2 hours. NOTE: the train doors do not open automatically, you need to push the green button.
