City/town information

The quaint, resort-like village of Gatlinburg, nestled in the mountains of East Tennessee, is known for it's beautiful scenery, great shopping, as well as its colorful history. The small resort town, commonly referred to as the “Gateway to the Smoky Mountains,” lies at the foot of Mt. There are plenty of things to do here including an amusement park, ski lift, and even a space needle observation tower.

These visitors are drawn by the sweeping mountain views, 730 miles of pristine mountain streams, carpets of wildflowers and a lush forest that lead to the Park’s recognition as an “International Biosphere Reserve.” It is home to abundant wildlife including black bears, elk, white-tailed deer and 200 species of birds.
