U Bistrot is 5-min walk down the hill from the 'Unique House' hosted by Natasha. This is a cafe-restaurant with a good food selection and nice prices.
"My all time favorite at this place is fresh salmon steak. It's yummy! Plus, if sitting outdoors you will enjoy the view of all Balluta Bay. I love this place for lunches."

U Bistrot
George Borg Olivier StreetU Bistrot is 5-min walk down the hill from the 'Unique House' hosted by Natasha. This is a cafe-restaurant with a good food selection and nice prices.
"My all time favorite at this place is fresh salmon steak. It's yummy! Plus, if sitting outdoors you will enjoy the view of all Balluta Bay. I love this place for lunches."
The Manouche is a bakery coffee shop. It offers such a good selection of sweets and bakery, really nice hot chocolate (not from the packet but a real chocolate), selection of coffees, seating indoors and outdoors at the terrace, good views.
Located at Spinola Park which is the same building as the Park Towers Supermarket - this is just a 2min walk from the 'Unique House' hosted by Natasha.

Manouche Craft Bakery & Bistro
The Manouche is a bakery coffee shop. It offers such a good selection of sweets and bakery, really nice hot chocolate (not from the packet but a real chocolate), selection of coffees, seating indoors and outdoors at the terrace, good views.
Located at Spinola Park which is the same building as the Park Towers Supermarket - this is just a 2min walk from the 'Unique House' hosted by Natasha.
Supermarket
Welbee’s (formerly Park Towers Supermarket) which is in Spinola Park Business Centre is just at the doorstep of the 'Unique House' hosted by Natasha.
This supermarket offers a wide choice of all types of foods, drinks, including personal hygiene items and more. They also offer Deli counter inside the supermarket.
Just beside the supermarket there is also a food court and coffee stations in the same building.
To get to this place, take Lapsi Street going down the hill and in a bout 1 minute walking you will see a signed entrance to 'Spinola Park' on your left.
Once you enter this door, you will come to the 2 lifts. Go to -1 on any of these lifts (btw, Lapsi street which you came by is located at level 3 for those lifts - this will be useful to know for your return trip).
At the -1 level you will pass a few fire-safety doors and get to the car park. Here you can either leave the car park altogether and enter from the street (entrance would be on your left), or passing through the car park you will see another set of 4 large elevators with smart system for ordering these elevators - select to go to the supermarket floor and you're there.

taxis, car sharing, scooter and bike rentals
Local buses are time-consuming and not always reliable.
My personal advise - white taxis stopped in the street tend to overcharge.
As locals, we would prefer using Bolt taxi app or e-Cabs taxi app for fully private rides (rates for taxi are somewhat similar with them).
A cheaper version but less private one is to use Cool taxi-sharing. This taxi would pick up a few passengers en-route. This could sometimes affect riding times.
Finally, there's car sharing option with GoTo app for driving around yourselves.
Also with Bolt it is possible to rent a scooter and Nextbike offers bike rentals.

Local customs to keep in mind
Malta loves fireworks! They can start them early in the morning and they can go on till late at night. The beauty of 'Unique House' is that you will hardly hear them (unless these are part of St Julians festa in late August). But they are really beautiful to see.
One thing that might wake you up on a Monday morning if you tend to sleep late is the gas delivery man. They blow their horn from around 10am till somewhat 12pm every Monday. Don't be scared - they just let the locals know that the gas cylinders are in the area.
