Sightseeing

Mancos is a quiet, but up-and-coming town, with organic farmers, a happening cidery and brewpub, and the home of the most renown packraft manufacturer in the world, Alpacka Raft. The community is a nice mix of ranchers, farmers, young families and outdoors people. People don't mind your guns or if you're gay. Smoke marijuana or stick to the wide variety of beer offered at the Mancos Brewing Company (and try their pizza, too! Yum). All types of people are welcome in this small town. It's well worth it to drive, ride a bike or take a long walk in town and in the country, which is just a mile outside of town. Long country roads with few cars offer views of ranches, 100-year-old barns, horses, and hay fields. You'll probably see deer in the fields, along with the cows. Wild animals abound if you go a bit further onto BLM land in Weber Canyon or up into the mountains. There are plenty of public lands to explore in and around Mancos, all very easily accessible. It's just beautiful here!

Food scene

All the locals go here, but so do visitors. If you want to try a wide variety of craft beers and some excellent sourdough pizza, this is a must-visit pub.

Great river-side dog and walking park, just on the edge of town. Cool in the summer and some secret swimming hole nooks. Ideal for kids, families, dogs or just someone wanting a quiet walk in the woods.

SO many great trails at Phil's, and it's just 15 minutes from Mancos. Don't be discouraged by a full parking lot on weekends. All the trails are one-way, so you still don't see many people. Best trails around for beginners to experts!

Old Western Town

Check out the local shops, which offer a mix of Western, Native American and current art and jewelry. Downtown is sweet!
