Drive, hike, bike, or take the historic cog railway to the top of one of southern Colorado's most prominent mountains!
The highway to the top is a toll road, hiking/biking to the top is a true accomplishment (for seasoned adventurers only), and tickets to the railway are hard to come by, but no matter how you explore the Mountain of the Sun, you can't beat being at the top. A brand new visitors center and indescribable views are waiting for you at the top!

This historic and natural wonder can get crowded in the summer and on weekends, if you can't avoid peak days try to go early or later in the day. You'll beat the summer heat and the crowds! Hiking here is an incredible experience but there's not much shade so bring plenty of sunscreen and water!

Mount Princeton hot springs, Monarch Mountain Ski resort (a personal favorite), St. Elmo ghost town, white water rafting opportunities, and hikes galore! The two hour drive is more than worth it if you're in southern Colorado for an extended stay.

The two hour drive is more than worth it if you're in southern Colorado for an extended stay.
Take some time to embrace the history and character of this city above the clouds! With tons of dining and shopping options, everywhere you look is a new adventure waiting to be had.
