Local Village
A charming English village in the heart of the Cotswolds, known as the Venice of the Cotswolds. Regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton-on-the-Water has a unique appeal to visitors and residents alike. With plenty to see and do, Bourton-on-the-Water offers a wealth of attractions and shops, restaurants and tea rooms, or simply for you to enjoy some tranquil time by the River Windrush with its beautiful bridges throughout.
In addition to the coffee shops, pubs and restaurants there is also Birdland Park & Gardens, Cotswold Brew Co, the famous Model Village and the Cotswold Motoring and Toy museum. Bourton-on-the-Water is a 30 minute walk down the hill from the cottage, or a 5 minute drive.

Sightseeing
Blenheim Palace is a country house in Woodstock. It is the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough and the only non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. The palace is also famous for being the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill. The palace is perfect for a day out, there is plenty to see in the vast grounds of the palace, and there is also a restaurant in the orangery which is a spectacular spot to stop for lunch.

Another brilliant day out, The Cotswold Distillery is the first full-scale distillery in the Cotswolds. At the distillery, they craft a range of single malt whiskies, gins and liqueurs, including the award-winning Cotswolds Dry Gin and Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky. This is another amazing tour and a great way to see how these award-winning spirits are made (and also another good opportunity to try some drinks). We do recommend taking a taxi to the distillery however to fully enjoy the experience.
