From the flat a short walk takes you to the river side. From here it is possible to walk beside the river and onwards by footpaths through the reed beds to Hengistbury Head. Pleasure boats are available for hire and ferries enable you to go to Christchurch Quay or across Christchurch Harbour to Mudeford. 5 Minutes walk from the flat is the Riverside Inn for food and drinks overlooking the River Stour. Overlooking the river with terrace and dining facilities is The Captains Club, highly recommended. Close by in Tuckton for coffees and breakfasts is The Mocha Turtle, 2 minutes walk, may we also recommend our local bakers who have wonderful pastries and the queue speaks for itself. Tuckton Tea Gardens next to the river is 5-8 minutes walk for breakfasts and lunches overlooking the river. The cliff top is 10 minutes walk and the path to the beach leads to a " Pop up " restaurant for snacks, burgers, breakfasts drinks ( inc. beers ). Tables and chairs are beneath canvas, behind glass or on the beach.
