Wargrave is a lovely little village a few minutes down the road from the site or a 5-10 minute walk. It has 3 nice pubs, 2 new cafes and is home to St Mary's Church. "We caught a breeze, after lunch, which took us gently up past Wargrave and Shiplake. Mellowed in the drowsy sunlight of a summer's afternoon, Wargrave, nestling where the river bends, makes a sweet old picture as you pass it, and one that lingers long upon the retina of memory." - Jerome K. Jerome, Three Men in a Boat, Chapter XIV, 1889
