The Commodore sits on the cliff top with amazing views out to sea, straight on the coast end of Fisherman’s Walk it is a quick walk from the house, peroni on draft and great value food. The staff in here are always switched on a friendly, it is a well run operation. We eat in here regularly.

You can take the ferry from Poole Town Quay to Brownsea Island, home of the scouting movement and enjoy the great walks and the peacocks that wander round the place. There are numerous rivers and creeks running from the harbour that can be explored by boat.

We launch our fishing boat at Mudeford Quay so you are welcome to join in with that if you fancy a trip out.

It all happened here, Harry Paye the Pirate was hunted by the Spanish while the scouting movement was started on Brownsea Island. For the military minded the Royal Marines are here too and can often be seen zipping round the harbour in their fast black ribs

Corfe Castle is an iconic spot, legendary puritan Oliver Cromwell rounded up and sacked Corfe to displace King Charles in no uncertain terms. The castle still bears the scars of that encounter.
