Food Scene

It's amazing. It's really french and really delicious! Stock up on beautiful French pastries or try to get a table for lunch. The French Onion Soup is perfect - but beware!! They ONLY accept cash - no matter what.

If you're looking for the best, hottest green chile you can find, go here. It is a weird little diner at the far end of town right next to a gas station. Although they are closed for all of Holy Week, if you can make it there order a breakfast burrito with green chile & a lot of water!! If you're really daring, ask for the Level 2 Chile - it's shocking!

This is the sister restaurant to "The Shed" and a quick walk from our house. A truly Santa Fe experience, many people believe their chile is a must for every visit. Hidden back behind the railyard park, this is where the locals to to eat at The Shed without having to wait two hours for a table!

This place is just around the corner! Again, it's a famous place, and again, the owners are friends and live in the neighborhood! It's a really cute little place with a great patio & delicious selections. You'll want to sit there all day!

Our good friend is the Chef there & not only is it a world famous restaurant, but Patrick can serve up fantastic gluten-free dishes in addition to all the regular Cowgirl fare! Great patio, wonderful place

Sightseeing

This is kind of the place to start, it is the heart of Santa Fe (& has been for hundreds of years). From here you can shop, visit museums, eat, and just enjoy the uniqueness of Santa Fe. The Cathedral (down the street), the staircase at Loretto Chapel, and 5 (at least) museums are all within walking distance of the plaza. Park wherever you can (if you drove), wear comfortable shoes, & wander!

Take a drive up the mountain through the national park. At the top is the Santa Fe Ski Area, which has hiking & some activities year round (I think) and there are wonderful hiking trails & picnic areas along the drive. Pick any of them & enjoy the mountains (but be mindful of the altitude - it's even higher up there!).

Parks & Nature

This is on my list of things to do when people visit Santa Fe. Put on your hiking shoes and pack up a nice lunch and head up to Bandelier Monument for the afternoon. There are amazing Anasazi Ruins that you can tour, and lovely hiking to do in the area. If you haven't been to Chaco Canyon or another major Anasazi site, start here - it's amazing.
