In the picturesque, full of life island of Kos our cosy seafood restaurant is waiting to lure you into a journey of flavours, that combines the modern and the traditional Greek cuisine. We start our day at early time in Barbouni as our fishermen offer us daily fresh fish and shellfish from the bottom of the islands sea, while the local traditional cottage industries produce only for us local and tasty products such as cracked wheat bread, cheese and honey. Our highly accomplished kitchen team is there to prepare for you an exquisite menu. The recipe is really simple. The freshness of the raw materials that we carefully select from all around Greece and the attention to the detail and quality, transform the simple and traditional recipes of Kos and its neighbouring islands to dishes with unique and modern taste. If you're on the island of Kos, do yourself a favour and stop in a Barbouni for a sunset dinner. No, the sun doesn't set into the seas that border this modern Dodecanese restaurant, but Turkey will be the backdrop to your dining experience with sailboats and ferries plying the waters in between. The surroundings will not leave you wanting and neither will the food! We promise moments of comfort and relaxation.

Enjoy endless walks in the main town and observe the island’s history through its monuments dating from antiquity, the Byzantine period, Ottoman and Italian rule, as well as the time when it served as a center for the Knights of the Order of Saint John. A stroll around town reveals a host of sights to behold including mosques, Italian-era buildings, ancient structures, narrow alleys, the marina with the yachts, and the palm-tree boulevard with street artists. Make a pit-stop at the plane tree of Hippocrates, where, according to tradition, the father of medicine held discussions with his students. Also, look out for the Mosque of the Loggia, stroll through the ruins at the ancient agora, the ancient stadium, the Ksiston of the ancient gymnasium, mosaics, and the Nymphaeum building. Once the sun goes down, Exarhia, the bar district in the city of Kos, offers a vibrant nightlife.

This picture-perfect spot is a favorite postcard theme among tourists, making it the island’s most widely traveled image around the world. You, too, can enjoy swimming at the location’s two beaches, situated next to the archaeological site featuring the remains of two early Christian basilicas (5th – 6th century), named Agios Stefanos. Gaze out towards the islet of Kastri and feel the energy transmitted by the foundations of these old churches and the Baptistery, the columns of the sanctuary, and the mosaic floors. The village has a well-developed tourist infrastructure with plenty of accommodations without losing its authentic character.

Mastichari is located 22 kilometers west from Kos town. Its small port links Kos to Kalimnos which is exactly on the opposite side and its beach is now a modern tourist resort. One of its main characteristic features includes the ruins of the old, Early Christian Basilica with its beautiful mosaic floor only a short distance from sea. In Mastichari visitors apart from peace and quiet can also find good food served at the very popular fish houses which are only 20-30 meters from the beach and offer fresh fish and many delicious seafood dishes. Mastichari is very popular for its fresh fish as many fishermen have their fishing base here which means probably whatever is served on the table has just been caught in the morning. Mastichari beaches are characterized by white sand and turquoise waters which create the impression of being in an exotic place, just like the ones you find in the Pacific Ocean. On the road going to Mastichari you can find a Water Park and for those looking for something more private the beach has a few remote spots to enjoy.

In a distance 3.5 kilom. northwest of Kos town, at the slopes of a low mount with a view at the coasts of Asia Minor, there is the monumental complex of Asklipio. The space was located in the beginnings of 20th century by the German archaeologist R. Herzog and the research continued later Italian archeologists who attempted and the restoration of the monument projecting mainly to the Roman side. According to ancient Greek mythology Asclepius was the god of medicine and healing. He was the son of Apollo and Coronis or Arsinoe. It happened that while she was pregnant she was unfaithful to Apollo. He got so angry with her that she was burnt on a pyre. As for his son the father rescued him but sent him to the Earth where later the boy was carried to Chiron who was considered to be a kind centaur. He raised Asclepius and taught him the art of healing. Patients here were not offered therapy through divine intervention and the like, as was the case at the other well known Asklepions, but, instead, through scientifically based medical methods.
