Bodega Bay is a town and census-designated place in Sonoma County, California. This famous town is located along State Route 1, is on the eastern side of Bodega Harbor, an inlet of Bodega Bay on the Pacific coast. Nested into a particularly beautiful stretch of Sonoma County’s 55-mile Pacific Coastline, Bodega Bay is al favorite destination for travelers and local residents alike. This long-time home to fishing boat fleet is a small, friendly town with quirky oceanside shops, art galleries and excellent seafood restaurants. Its 52 miles from San Francisco (67.2 miles). You may not know this, but Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 horror classic The Birds was actually based on real events. In 1961, birds around Monterey Bay in California began to drop off and act disoriented, ramming into peoples’s houses.
