Sightseeing

Buttermilk Falls State Park

This is the closest waterfall to our Airbnb. There are two entrances with parking lots: Upper — which has a network of trails, 1 mile of which is flat & paved good for strollers. You can also drive this but should note it crosses the creek without a bridge so you’ll need a car with high clearance. The other 2 miles take you on a scenic & peaceful up/down wooded trail around Lake Treman and the dam. There are two picnic areas with bbq’s available. You can also hike down to Lower Falls along the creek from Upper. Lower — also has a network of trails, picnic area, and a very nice playground. Lower tends to be more crowded, particularly on the weekends. Bathrooms are available at Lower Buttermilk parking area and Upper after the first mile of paved trail.
