River station has the best burgers and soups. (They have a soup bar of 4 different types in the winter...each one is better then the next). This also has patio seating over looking the Hudson River.

The main attraction in Poughkeepsie Is the walkway over the Hudson which is a recently refurbished railway. The views on a bright blue sunny day are incredible and the fall foliage during the month of September through November are bursting with colors.

The Vanderbilt mansion is a great part of history and represents an era of elegance. The grounds are so relaxing to walk through.

This is one of our favorite scenic walking trails ever!. It also houses one of the prettiest and relaxing spas in the north east. Although the spa and overnight accommodations are very expensive, if you book a spa treatment it is free to get into the grounds and spend a full day there enjoying nature!
