It's a 20 min ride from our place. You can get there by bike too, but be sure to bring plenty of water as there's not a lot of shade on the way.
Apart from the plethora of coves and beaches, be sure to pay a visit to the bars, especially the Safari bar and try the sangria.
If you want to relax on easily accessible beaches, follow the signals to "Uvala Debeljak" and find a good spot there.
Otherwise, and if you're feeling a bit brave after trying that sangria, go to the top of the cape, just near Safari bar, where you can find cliffs and plateaus (8-15m) from which you can jump in the sea.
I'd stick to the lower ones but hey, you do you

Lungomare is the place for you!
Starting from a big cove called Valkane, which is perfect for families with little children, It's a stretch of about 1.5km just near the sea, with a lot of nice places to place your umbrella, and the best part of it is, you can just park less than 10m away from the sea.
Gortanova Uvala is the biggest cove there, and a favorite spot of the monk seal which has made a habit of coming to relax on the shore just there, occupying a big part of it.

I'll just post a disclaimer here so you don't misunderstand me. I can't really recommend this beach as I'm not a big fan and I'd rather go anywhere else than here, but tourists seem to love it so... here you go?
The beach itself has a lot of space, lots of sand, beach bars and it's not *that* bad if you're with children and you don't want to worry about them going too deep in the water. You can literally walk 100m from the shore and still be only knees deep in the water.
One of the biggest problems although is getting there. Medulin gets pretty crowded in the summer and their parking regulation is "ehhh", while the parking space is "mehh" so either pack a lunchbox filled with patience or simply avoid it.

Just take it whenever you want to cool off. While functioning as a point of interest in and of itself, it's actually a great shortcut from the forum to the colosseum AND it offers a cool temperature of around 10-15 degrees.
Also, it's an underground tunnel so if you're one of the unlucky ones with claustrophobia, maybe just go around and make your peace with the sun :)

The heat is getting unbearable and the AC is just not cutting it anymore? Go visit the aquarium! Not only can you spend some time looking at fish, molluscs, cephalopods, turtles, and... i think they got an aligator there(?), you can really cool of in the fortress.
It's going to be even worse once you decide to leave and get back to the heat but hey, might just enjoy a bit of cool air.

It's going to be even worse once you decide to leave and get back to the heat but hey, might just enjoy a bit of cool air.

During the day it's a place where garage bands meet painters, martial artists, skaters, students, AV artists and many others.
During the night it's a place where punks, metalheads, and all other sorts of more-or-less alternative subcultures meet and drink together.
There's a skatepark here, if you want to hurt yourself, otherwise you can just bring your own drinks and drink on the big parking lot alongside with other people playing music from their cars and more or less doing the same thing you're doing.
When you've had enough of that (around 11PM) you can either go "underground" and visit the club or go on, visiting other spots in the city.
If you do decide to visit the club in Rojc, be sure to order "Medežija" at the bar, so you can completely regret your life decisions next day :)
