A wonderful waterfall in Muckross on the way to Molls Gap and Kenmare. A must see!
The gardens are particularly spectacular. There are walks of varying distances to choose from. My favourite is the Muckross/Dinis walk - approximately 7 miles. Walk the main avenue, with your back to the main door of Muckross House. Turn left at fork & pass the boathouse on the left. Continue to Brícin bridge where the middle lake meets the lower lake. Continue to Dinis Cottage for a well earned coffee. Proceed past the cottage to Molls Gap road. Cross the road and veer slightly right to the green finger post sign to a raised pathway above the road. This will end before Torc Waterfall, turn left for the house.

Visit Ross Castle & Ross Island. Take a boat trip on the lower lake, Lough Leane. Free to visit the outside of the Castle, there is a tour of the inside of the castle for a fee.

At exit of cul-de-sac, take a left. Drive 2 miles to first junction, turn right before yellow pub. Drive up hill and turn right again. Aghadoe is at the top - great viewing point.

Have a coffee or a fish & chip in the clubhouse, - Great views. Two 18 hole courses. Killeen is an Irish Open course.

There is a car park at the top of Torc Waterfall where you can park. Or follow the steps from Torc Waterfall. Approximately a two hour hike.

Behind the cottages - walk to exit of cul-de-sac, turn left, walk 500 yards on the left to green finger-post sign, turn left into the park. Walk up the hill. At the top is a seat and great place to watch the sun go down looking over the lakes & National Park. Take a bottle of wine & a couple of glasses and relax.

At the top is a seat and great place to watch the sun go down looking over the lakes & National Park. Take a bottle of wine & a couple of glasses and relax.
See the deer grazing in the evening time or early morning. Continue on to children's play-ground. There are several walks in the Demesne of the National Park. Your are free to walk these at any time. Great place for a jog!!

Activies
Killarney Riding Stables is approximately 200m from our cottages. One hour and two hour rides can be booked with the stables. The rides go through the National Park. On the longer ride the horses are taken though the shallow edge of the Lakes of Killarney. It might be better to judge about doing these rides depending on the weather conditions. Keep an eye on the weather channel and perhaps reserve a ride nearer to your trip.
