If you want to do kayaking or paddle boarding you can do that at Shem Creek, which you can walk to. The historic Pitt St. Bridge is about 1 mile away so you could walk or drive there to check out the amazing views. Sullivan's Island and Downtown Charleston are about a 10 min driver or UBER ride.
