Getting beignets and coffee at Cafe du Monde is a must if you're in town. They only accept cash and while the line will likely be long when you get there, they turn tables fast and you have a front row seat to people watching on Decatur street. They are also open 24 hours so you can go at any time during your trip! Beignets are donut-like pastries that are fluffy and covered in powered sugar so word of caution to those in black outfits.
